April 17, 1838, marks the beginning of Reguengos’ true growth, with the Royal decision to establish the county seat there. To finance the building housing the “town council and judicial proceedings,” a tax of 60 réis was created for each almude (16.8 liters) of wine. A few years later, with the planting of approximately one million vines, there was a veritable explosion in the region’s production, initiating a long winemaking history that you can fully savor in this Rubigo Alentejo. A full-bodied and velvety wine with a long and elegant finish.
